Andy Allen is a master craftsman.

After apprenticing at Maton for most of his adult life he became their foremost builder and was the driving force in the formation of the Maton Custom Shop. Andy has arguably built more guitars in his lifetime than any other Luthier; he’s had a hand in building thousands of production line guitars and personally constructed hundreds of custom made guitars, his hand made ‘mouse’ guitars remain the workhorses of Tommy Emmanuel, a salute to his craft from the greatest guitarist on the planet.

Andy retired from Maton a few years ago and is now building his own acoustic and electric guitars. Built the traditional way, in his own backyard workshop, using handmade jigs, old school tools and a spray booth he personally constructed, the instruments that emerge are magical.
