The Chevron inlay is no longer an option on Steve's instruments but he made an exception since we owned The Model 18 with these inlays and wanted this to Match.

Established in 1977 Stephen Gilchrist instruments are built in Lake Gnotuk, Australia. He builds mandolins and guitars in small batches to ensure the highest quality of workmanship and playability.

He usually has a waitlist of 2-3 years and his mandolins are considered the best in the world (based on the famous Loar Era Gibsons of the 1920s). His archtop guitars are also unparalleled, and much scarcer having made less than 100 in his forty year career.

We consider ourselves fortunate to have two examples of Stephen's archtop guitars in the collection.
