SIGNATURE SERIES: 1986 - 1990. The first 'ultimate quality wood grade' PRS, hand-signed by Paul Reed Smith and based on the Custom, extremely figured (artist grade) maple top, bird inlays, only 1,000 made.

Signature serial # 1, owned and purchased directly from Paul Reed Smith, comes with a letter handwritten by Paul.

Mint condition guitar with electronics and pickups having been altered over the years. Originally had the name of Paul's son and his signature on the rear of the headstock but removed by Paul prior to selling the guitar to us. This was the series prototype and as Paul states they didn't realise the tuners would cover the words SIG SERIES #1 handwritten on the rear of the headstock.

By the summer of 2013 we were fortunate enough to have had many of our rare pre factory and early PRS guitars make a visit to Paul and the team at PRS to woo over before these guitars made their way to join our collection Down Under.

So when Paul was looking at selling a batch of personal guitars that he had made for and kept in his family, he reached out to ask if we'd be interested, we were.

The purchase included Signature #1, Artist 1 #1 and the first Red Tiger McCarty Private Stock.

We are proud to hold these exceptional guitars in the collection, they are not only special due to their place in PRS history but moreover they were owned and used by the guy that was once called 'The American Stradivari of the electric guitar'
